In January 1971, the world watched in awe as NASA's Apollo 14 spacecraft embarked on a daring mission to the moon. Led by Commander Alan Shepard, accompanied by Command Module Pilot Stuart Roosa, and Lunar Module Pilot Edgar Mitchell, the crew would soon embark on an adventure that would leave a lasting mark in space exploration history. This mission, like the ones before it, aimed to further expand our understanding of the moon's geological composition, conducting experiments and collecting vital samples. However, Apollo 14 would be different, as it was tasked with visiting the Fra Mauro crater, a location of immense scientific interest and a previously unexplored lunar terrain.
